Spécialiste du XVIIème siècle, Vincent Dumestre imagine, avec Marie Lambert-Le Bihan, une fusion entre baroque et refrains du Paris du début du XXème siècle, dans l’esprit de ce qui se faisait alors à l’époque, lorsque les motifs anciens s’immisçaient dans la trame mélodique de la chanson des rues. Cette porosité entre répertoires savant et populaire qui n’a cessé de nourrir l’histoire de la musique prend ici l’allure d’un pont entre les époques. Elle s’affirme dans un effectif mêlant les pupitres du Poème Harmonique avec l’accordéon de Vincent Lhermet, figure de la création contemporaine pour l’accordéon et qui n’est pas novice dans ces hybridations : avec la gambiste Marianne Muller, il forme un duo, Les inAttendus, revisitant les œuvres et les sonorités baroques. La mezzo Stéphanie d’Oustrac s’inscrit dans la lignée des grandes icônes du café-concert pour cette mise en miroir ciselée des tourments amoureux d’un siècle à l’autre, coproduite avec l’Opéra de Rouen et le Midsummer Festival.
