L’hommage de Jean-Pierre Lescot au célébrissime conte de Carlo Collodi (1826-1890) est une appropriation assumée, où l’homme de théâtre averti se saisit du pantin de bois avec tendresse et lucidité. Ce chef-d’œuvre universel de la littérature enfantine explore les rêves et les espoirs de l’enfance, aussi immenses que naïfs, et souligne la nécessité de grandir en respectant le savoir, dans une famille aimante. Des vertus d’actualité, qui ne vont pas de soi, et font même la une des médias et des essais sociologiques sous diverses formes. Le monde est toujours aussi rempli de surprises et de menaces, pouvant parfois mener jusqu’à la solitude et la faim. Ce petit bonhomme qui arpente le monde et se détourne du chemin de l’école, tout émerveillé devant les tentations du monde, ne sait pas au début ce que grandir signifie, et pas non plus vraiment ce que l’amour veut dire.
Un périple accidenté
Geppetto, tante Susanna, sa fille adoptive Emma, au fur et à mesure les liens se tissent. La fée est ici un être humain, qui se sert de la magie de la générosité. « Pinocchio, c’est la nature à l’état sauvage » dit Jean-Pierre Lescot. Le rite initiatique franchit donc bien des embûches, et le metteur en scène ne se prive pas de semer quelques allusions à notre modernité pressée et avide. Le périple de Pinocchio, accidenté et imprévisible, permet un véritable temps d’écoute pour les enfants. “J’aime rappeler le besoin d’enchantement. Le monde réel ne suffit pas. Nous avons besoin d’images pour entrer en résonance avec le travail d’humanité qui nous a précédés.” Les images d’une grande poésie, simples et immédiatement lisibles, ont ici effectivement une réelle capacité d’enchantement. La créativité artistique a ce pouvoir de raconter le réel, et de le transcender. C’est bien cela qui est en jeu dans ce très joli spectacle qui donne toute sa noblesse à l’art scénique.
