« Dans ce projet, qui convoque mes origines gréco congolaises, la rumba (congolaise) et le tsifteteli (rythme grec) se mêlent aux mélodies traditionnelles de ces deux cultures. » C’est ainsi que cette jeune chanteuse présentait dans le cadre d’une campagne de crowdfunding son premier disque. Pari réussi puisque Monika Kabasele a pu financer Grécofuturisme, dont on fête la sortie ce soir. Au travers de ce néologisme elle affirme sa volonté d’inscrire son ADN musical dans une mixité tournée vers l’avenir, via un pont transculturel où nouvelles technologies tout comme ce bon vieux jazz ont leur rôle à jouer. Au vu des musiciens conviés, parmi lesquels le batteur Arnaud Dolmen et le percussionniste Roger Raspail, cela augure d’une réussite.
