Cette magnifique production, créée en décembre dernier au Théâtre de Caen, reprise en janvier à l’Opéra de Versailles, part aujourd’hui en tournée. Le vétéran William Christie et le jeune metteur en scène Clément Hervieu-Léger se retrouvent pour livrer leur vision de la géniale comédie-ballet de Molière et Lully. « Monter aujourd’hui une comédie-ballet comme Monsieur de Pourceaugnac, c’est s’intéresser à un genre théâtral inventé par Molière lui-même et qui ne lui survivra pas, un genre qui se révèle être une véritable utopie : réussir un spectacle total qui mêlerait à la fois le théâtre, la musique et la danse mais qui verrait, in fine, l’art dramatique primer. La musique fait intrinsèquement partie de la dramaturgie de la pièce. Molière et Lully réussissent cette incroyable gageure : faire de la musique du théâtre. » confie le metteur en scène, qui est aussi dans l’actualité lyrique ce mois-ci avec une nouvelle production de Mithridate de Mozart au Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.
