JAZZ / SAINT-QUENTIN-EN-YVELINES
La chanteuse et compositrice Isabel Sörling, qui vient d’être distinguée « Artiste vocale de l’année » aux Victoires du Jazz 2021, est en résidence au Théâtre de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. Après un premier concert remarqué en septembre (« Acoustic chamber ») et avant de revenir au printemps, elle propose aujourd’hui un nouveau répertoire inspiré par ses racines suédoises. Dans « Mother Tongue » elle explore les chants traditionnels des Samis, l’un des derniers peuples aborigènes du Grand Nord. Ce matériau devient alors pour elle et ses complices le sujet d’un hommage à une communauté menacée de disparition, permettant aussi un voyage esthétique vers un lieu inédit d’improvisation où sa voix au charme magnétique devrait s’épanouir idéalement. Avec le batteur suisse Julian Sartorius, le contrebassiste français Claude Tchamitchian et le saxophoniste suédois (de Berlin) Otis Sandsjö. A noter aussi, dans la programmation du même théâtre, le concert de jazz une semaine plus tôt de Benjamin Moussay dans la musique de son très remarqué album solo « Promontoire », sorti en 2020 chez ECM. Un pianiste qui se trouve avoir partagé la scène ces dernières années avec Isabel Sörling au sein du groupe Try d’Airelle Besson.
