Leader et compositeur quasi-exclusif du répertoire du groupe, Janusz Wojtarowicz fonde ce trio comparable à aucun autre en 1996. Ici l’accordéon brouille toutes les pistes et bouscule les limites musicales. « On est aussi bien fasciné par le heavy metal que par le jazz ou la musique classique… » insiste le leader. L’univers du Motion Trio s’épanouit avec la même évidence dans les clubs, dans des concerts de rue ou dans les salles de concerts les plus feutrés. Le palmarès de ses collaborations témoigne de cette versatilité impressionnante, du trompettiste de jazz Tomasz Stanko à l’orchestre symphonique de la radio de Cologne, en passant par Trilok Gurtu ou Bobby McFerrin. Le Motion Trio a été abondamment distingué par la presse jazz polonaise et a remporté le Grand Prix du IVe Concours International de Musique de Chambre Contemporaine Krzysztof Penderecki. Dans ce concert à la forte dimension dramaturgique, le Motion Trio revisite la musique de ses albums « Cry », « Pictures » et « Play-station ».
