Victor, surnommé “Motobécane“, mène une vie simple et sans histoires. Récolter les bouteilles vides, collectionner les étiquettes et prendre plaisir à respirer “el bon air à campagne“ en roulant sur sa mobylette bleue, voilà son gagne-pain et quelques petits bonheurs. Ce “quitte à quatorze“ (l’école) écrit sans manquer un “s“ à la fin des mots. Il n’est pas si bête. Puis sa vie bascule. Il rencontre la “tiote“ Amandine, la recueille naïvement chez lui parce qu’elle ne veut plus aller à l’école, ni retourner chez elle car sa mère la bat. Emu par l’enfant, touché par le fait que quelqu’un lui accorde autant d’attention – « ça m’a pris el goutte dans l’cil » – il ne la ramène pas chez elle et la garde auprès de lui plusieurs semaines. Les gendarmes, à la recherche de la petite, finissent par l’arrêter, par hasard.
Authenticité saisissante
C’est avec une authenticité saisissante que Bernard Crombey donne vie à cet homme blessé, qui écrit sa “vérité à l’exacte“ depuis sa “chambre à barreaux“. Il a créé son personnage en s’inspirant du roman Le Ravisseur de Paul Savatier, imaginé à partir d’un fait-divers de 1975. Avec l’accent picard, il retrace sa vie et raconte son histoire, drame poignant d’une solitude irrémédiable et sans issue. Au-delà des clichés du terroir campagnard, d’un vocabulaire et d’une syntaxe qui peut prêter à sourire, cet accent picard transforme le verbe, il donne à l’interprétation un relief humain particulier, la langue s’enrichit d’étonnants raccourcis poétiques et d’une saveur particulière, et cette espèce d’étrangeté du verbe n’empêche en rien la proximité avec le spectateur, bien au contraire. Une telle langue ne constitue pas un masque, elle révèle au contraire cet homme dans toute sa naïveté et sa sincérité, faisant de la scène de théâtre le lieu d’une incarnation étonnamment juste et sans fard.
