La jeune Compagnie Allegro Assai, née de la rencontre entre les chanteuses Florence Gotesman et Christine Baricault, réunit dans ce spectacle attachant pas moins de neuf chanteurs (professionnels et amateurs de haut niveau) accompagnés par un pianiste, tous à la fois musiciens et comédiens. « Mozart Café » mêle en effet habilement saynètes théâtrales et extraits célèbres issus des principaux opéras du grand compositeur. L’action se déroule dans le décor du café où vont se croiser, au fil d’une intrigue « sur mesure » avant tout prétexte à un joyeux chassé-croisé lyrique, les grands personnages des ouvrages mozartiens, de Don Giovanni en personne à Papageno de La Flûte enchantée, de Chérubin des Noces de Figaro à Leporello de Don Giovanni. Ces héros mozartiens (et beaucoup d’autres) reprennent vie en toute simplicité et spontanéité, soudain libérés du decorum et des codes de l’opéra officiel. Une sympathique initiation à l’univers des opéras de Mozart et un tremplin pour ces jeunes interprètes.
