Voilà vingt ans que la bien nommée compagnie L’Art mobile met en œuvre un art populaire et exigeant, provoquant la rencontre avec toutes sortes de publics. Le Théâtre portatif, une structure itinérante, leur permet aussi de diffuser leurs projets dans des lieux non dédiés. En 2014, ils éclairent le destin plutôt méconnu des mutins de la Grande Guerre à travers le texte de Luc Tartar, qui a grandi à côté de Vimy dans le Pas-de-Calais, une terre meurtrie par la guerre et marquée par la mine. La mise en jeu de cette mémoire interroge les questions de la responsabilité collective et individuelle, du courage et du sacrifice, de l’amitié et de l’amour. « Moi, qu’est-ce que j’aurais-je fait ? » se demandent les artistes. Une question sans réponse que le théâtre éclaire et rend vivante. Dans un dispositif habité par quatre acteurs et une fildefériste, les fantômes du passé surgissent, des personnages d’une profonde humanité prennent corps et interpellent notre époque.
