Entendre Muza Rubackyté jouer Liszt est une expérience à ne pas manquer. Sa connaissance profonde et intime du compositeur, son insouciante maîtrise technique, son charisme naturel, font d’elle une lisztienne des plus remarquables. À la salle Gaveau, elle interprétera la fameuse Sonate en si bémol mineur, ainsi que quelques vertigineuses transcriptions des lieders de Schubert. Si le nom de Rubackyté est souvent associé à celui de Liszt, ses interprétations engagées et colorées révèlent aussi d’autres compositeurs. Ainsi, nous l’écouterons sur la Sonate en la mineur de Schubert, et elle nous fera découvrir les différentes facettes du compositeur lituanien Ciurlionis. Artiste protéiforme qui fut également peintre, Ciurlionis compose une musique à la croisée du romantisme tardif et du modernisme. Un répertoire qui, sous les doigts de la pianiste lituanienne, s’avère d’une intensité poignante. 2011, année Liszt, ne pouvait être qu’un grand cru pour Muza Rubackyté : nous la retrouverons en juin à l’Opéra de Paris, pour l’intégrale des Années de Pèlerinage.
