Orchestre symphonique
Avant de présenter au public de Pleyel l’un des temps forts de sa saison parisienne avec une représentation en version de concert de Tristan und Isolde de Wagner le 13 octobre avec Nina Stemme et Christian Franz dans les rôles-titres, le patron de l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France succombe pour sa rentrée parisienne à une véritable inspiration slave. Le 28 septembre, il rapproche le Dvorák de l’imposant Concerto pour violoncelle (avec Jian Wang en soliste) du Chostakovitch de la Symphonie n° 6, œuvre majeure et longtemps méconnue, de forme singulière par sa structure en trois mouvements. Une œuvre déroutante, car elle s’ouvre sur un long mouvement lent, mais surtout irrésistible par les pics orchestraux et sensibles que constituent les deux derniers mouvements rapides, glorieux ou joyeux en apparence, tragiques et pessimistes en réalité… Une semaine plus tard, le chef coréen poursuivra en terres russes avec les partitions de Shéhérazade de Rimski-Korsakov et la Quatrième symphonie de Tchaïkovski, après cependant un détour avant l’entracte du côté de Debussy (En blanc et noir dans l’orchestration de Robin Holloway ; Fantaisie pour piano et orchestre, avec Roger Muraro en soliste).
