L’œuvre compte parmi les plus célèbres et jouées du répertoire mais impossible pourtant de qualifier un concert mettant à l’affiche Le Sacre du printemps de programme de routine ! Aucun mélomane sincère et musicien (chef ou instrumentiste d’orchestre) digne de ce nom ne peut aborder le chef-d’œuvre de Stravinski, véritable gifle musicale infligée au monde et à l’histoire, sans une tension et une émotion particulières. C’est Myung-Whun Chung qui, à la tête de l’Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France, nous propose de renouer avec cette œuvre fondatrice. On se souvient de son spectaculaire enregistrement, caractérisé par une plastique sonore parfaite, du Sacre paru il y a un an chez Deutsche Grammophon et enregistré avec le « Philhar ». En première partie de programme, le Concerto pour piano n° 2 de Prokofiev servi par le jeune pianiste Coréen Sunwook Kim qui a remporté, en 2006, à 18 ans, le Premier prix du concours international de piano Leeds. Une semaine plus tard, les mêmes chef et orchestre accueilleront le violoniste grec Leonidas Kavakos dans le Concerto pour violon de Brahms après avoir joué en création mondiale Morning in Long Island Concert n°1 pour orchestre de Pascal Dusapin.
