Le metteur en scène Christian Schiaretti tient depuis longtemps intime conversation avec les grandes œuvres du répertoire, qu’il aime à fréquenter en troupe au Théâtre National Populaire de Villeurbanne. Il a aussi noué au fil du temps des liens privilégiés avec des acteurs de talents. Ainsi de Nada Strancar. La comédienne a déjà servi Brecht brillamment et aujourd’hui chante la verve engagée du dramaturge allemand sur les partitions de Paul Dessau, dont les compositions mêlent influences multiples, depuis la chanson populaire, Bach jusqu’au dodécaphonisme de Schönberg. Ainsi encore de Didier Sandre, qui lui se glisse dans les volutes mystiques du verbe claudélien. La Messe là-bas, que le poète écrit en 1937 à son arrivée au Brésil, exalte les chagrins d’exil et le repli intérieur au plus incandescent de la foi dans un lyrisme flamboyant. Nada Stancar et Didier Sandre donnent corps et voix à l’utopie de « ces deux grandes âmes qui ont tâché chacune de résoudre un rêve poétique absolu où musiques et paroles s’enrichissent l’un l’autre. »
