Neeme Järvi dirige régulièrement l’Orchestre de Paris depuis 1989. Il avait donc toute sa place dans le cadre de la célébration des quarante ans de la formation parisienne qui se déroulera jusqu’au mois de juin prochain. D’autant que l’un de ses deux fils chefs d’orchestre, Paavo Järvi, est le futur directeur musical de l’Orchestre de Paris. Aujourd’hui âgé de soixante dix ans, Neeme Järvi est à la tête d’une immense discographie, marquée par la mise en valeur de compositeurs de « petits » pays, à commencer par son compatriote Arvo Pärt. Un soutien qui lui vaudra les foudres du pouvoir soviétique… Pour l’heure, il nous invite à la découverte de la Suite pour orchestre Alladin du danois Carl Nielsen (1865-1931) et de la Symphonie en si mineur de l’estonien Eduard Tubin (1905-1982), cinquième des dix œuvres du genre laissées achevées par ce compositeur souvent inspiré par la musique traditionnelle de son pays. Au centre de ce même programme, un tube voisine avec ces œuvres rares : le Concerto pour violon en ré majeur de Sibelius, idéalement interprété par Vadim Repin en soliste.
