Interpréter la Neuvième Symphonie de Beethoven a toujours pour un orchestre valeur de défi. La signification de cet immense geste orchestral, qui plus est placé en fin de saison, est cependant bien différente pour les deux formations qui cette année l’accomplissent. Pour Yoel Levi, il s’agit de confronter l’Orchestre national d’Ile-de-France, qu’il dirige depuis maintenant quatre ans, à l’un des sommets du répertoire. Pour Emmanuel Krivine, c’est le prolongement du travail mené sur instruments d’époque avec La Chambre philharmonique. L’interprétation, les effectifs et même le chant (avec respectivement le Chœur de l’Orchestre de Paris et le chœur de chambre Les Éléments) promettent d’être bien différents. La possible audition des deux versions, à deux semaines d’intervalle, n’en est que plus alléchante.
