En écho au Festival Yambi, organisé par la Communauté française de Belgique sur l’ensemble de son territoire à l’automne 2007, le Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles rend hommage à la créativité contemporaine de la République démocratique du Congo à travers les arts plastiques, numériques, le cinéma, la musique, le théâtre, la danse et la littérature. Du 21 septembre au 4 novembre, l’exposition Lelo Lobi (hier, aujourd’hui) réunit les œuvres des artistes précurseurs et celles des plasticiens contemporains émergents, des autodidactes des années 30 tels Djilatendo et Albert Lubaki aux peintres de l’Ecole de Lubumbashi, de l’Ecole d’Aladheff jusqu’aux recherches actuelles. Du 18 au 28 octobre, l’installation interactive From Inside de Thierry De Mey consacre l’un de ses trois volets à Kinshasa. Du 3 au 16 octobre, la seizième quinzaine du cinéma francophone offre tous les jours un panorama du cinéma congolais à 18h30 et des films inédits en avant-première à 20h30.
Octobre en musique, en danse, en théâtre et en lecture
Le 6 octobre à 20h, PNB (Pensée Nègre Brut), figure emblématique de la scène kinoise, dénonce les maux de la société congolaise et cultive l’espoir d’une Afrique pacifique en pratiquant un rap métissé, et Ya’Kongo, groupe formé des meilleurs jeunes musiciens de la scène afro-jazz, adapte les rythmes locaux à la musique de jazz. Place à la danse les 17 et 18 octobre à 20h avec Castrations, duo pour un danseur et une vieille dame et Na Tempo, qui parcourt l’histoire du chorégraphe et danseur Papy Ebotany. Halte littéraire le 19 octobre à 19h lors d’une soirée du conte avec Marie-Louise Bibish Mumbu et Yoka Lye Mudaba qui croiseront leurs regards et leurs sensibilités, entre humour et lucidité. Les 25, 26 et 27 octobre à 20h, Verre cassé, adaptation théâtrale du roman d’Alain Mabanckou, met en scène les brèves de comptoir d’un Bukowski congolais dressant un portrait savoureux de son pays. Autant d’occasions pour un automne africain de plaisir et de réflexion !
