Né à Toulon en 1973, ce formidable harmoniciste et chanteur a longtemps vécu à Minneapolis et à Chicago. Aujourd’hui encore, il partage son temps entre Paris et la Floride. « Le blues est entré dans ma vie à l’âge de 15 ans par l’intermédiaire du disque « Hard Again » de Muddy Waters avec James Cotton à l’harmonica. Depuis ce jour, la rage de jouer et l’énergie débordante qui émane de Cotton sont les piliers de ma démarche musicale » confie Nico Wayne Toussaint, qui a joué depuis avec quelques géants du genre tels Luther Allison ou Eddy C. Campbell. Poursuivant sa collaboration avec le label français de blues Dixiefrog, il signe aujourd’hui un album particulièrement attachant et groovy intitulé « Blues entre les dents » et presque entièrement écrit en français. Nico Wayne Toussaint sera aussi à l’affiche d’un concert exceptionnel le 12 novembre au Bataclan consacré aux artistes du label Dixiefrog.
