On suit décidément avec passion les choix de ce pianiste français discret mais au talent imparable qui signait déjà il y a peu un enregistrement captivant des Concertos pour la main gauche de Britten et Korngold. Il revient aujourd’hui sous l’étiquette convoitée du label suédois Bis Records avec un disque entièrement consacré au compositeur Boris Tishchenko (1939-2010), l’un des élèves les plus importants, aux propres yeux du maître, de Chostakovitch. « En découvrant les sonates pour piano de Boris Tishchenko, j’ai été totalement sidéré par cette musique et plus particulièrement par l’une de ses sonates, qui comporte une partie de cloches. Le traitement du piano, très orchestral – accentué par l’intervention des cloches – est très personnel, dans la lignée des plus grands compositeurs russes, dont Chostakovitch bien sûr, dont il fut sans doute l’élève favori » confie Nicolas Stavy. Un répertoire qu’il jouera prochainement à Paris pour la première fois, en compagnie du percussionniste Jean-Claude Gengembre. Des œuvres de Rachmaninov, Debussy, Liszt ou Saint-Saëns complètent le programme.
