Les jeux du marketing musical privent parfois des artistes d’envergure d’une aura méritée au profit d’autres au profil artistique plus discutable et sexy… Parmi ces nouveaux grands pianistes à connaître absolument figure indiscutablement Nicolas Stavy, 35 ans, formé à Paris et Genève, protégé de Brendel et lauréat entre autres du Concours Chopin à Varsovie en 2000… « J’essaie d’éviter toute spécialisation. Après avoir gagné le Prix Spécial au Concours Chopin, j’ai enregistré un disque Chopin et on me demandait tout le temps de jouer sa musique. Mais j’ai préféré rebondir sur une autre époque ! J’aime alterner les répertoires connus et les œuvres rares. Il y a bien sûr des musiques qui me sont évidentes, comme celle de Brahms en ce moment » confie le pianiste. Un compositeur qui figure au programme très romantique de son prochain récital parisien (Variations en ré mineur op. 18 d’après le mouvement lent du premier sextuor ; Quatre ballades op. 10), voisin logique au même programme de Liszt (La Vallée d’Obermann, Bénédiction de Dieu dans la solitude).
