« Vivre, c’est être dans son temps, avec ses contemporains. On peut être immergé mais aussi acteur, c’est-à-dire avoir un regard critique – au sens de « mettre en crise » – sur l’ordre des choses, participer et intervenir, individuellement ou collectivement, sur le cours du monde » revendique Maguy Marin. Toujours à l’affût des grésillements de notre époque, la chorégraphe ne lâche rien de l’exigeante vigilance et de l’engagement qui donnent à ses œuvres leur fulgurante lucidité et leur force émotionnelle. En témoigne l’édition 2012 du Festival d’Automne, qui, à travers huit pièces, jalonne trente ans d’un parcours artistique qui dit autant la souffrance du présent que la nécessaire utopie. Pour Nocturnes, nouvelle création pour six interprètes, elle retrouve son complice, le musicien-compositeur Denis Mariotte. Citant le philosophe italien Luigi Pareyson, elle se refuse à présager de la forme et insiste sur le processus de travail : « Les choses se font en se faisant. C’est-à-dire qu’on n’est pas a priori sur quelque chose dont on aurait l’idée, mais les choses se construisent par les erreurs, par les expériences. ». A découvrir en scène…
