Not Another Diva… Drôle de titre que cette création qui réunit en 2018 le chorégraphe congolais Faustin Linyekula et la performeuse sud-africaine Hlengiwe Lushaba. « Une diva ancrée dans le présent, une diva que nous verrions survivre, grandir, rêver, une diva qui pourrait choisir comment elle rêve et avec qui. » Telle est l’ambition affichée de cette histoire sur fond de climat post-apartheid, concoctée dans l’arrière-cour d’une maison coloniale à Kisangani, au Congo, là où se tinrent les premières répétitions. C’est le prétexte tout trouvé pour inventer une bande-son panafricaine, où la rumba dialogue avec le blues, où la soul se mêle aux rythmes sud-africains. À la clef un spectacle avec tambour et trompette qui promet de panser les corps comme les âmes.
