C’est en février 2008, à l’issue d’un cheminement créatif de dix-huit mois, que la metteure en scène Sylvie Mongin-Algan a pour la première fois présenté Notre Cerisaie au public lyonnais. Cette appropriation mouvante et personnelle de la pièce d’Anton Tchekhov — conçue comme une promenade autour des thématiques du départ, de la dépossession — est aujourd’hui reprise au Théâtre du 8e. Débutant par une déambulation libre au sein d’une installation offrant de belles perspectives sonores et visuelles, finissant par un banquet au cours duquel le public prend part à un véritable repas, cette représentation métissée donne à chaque spectateur l’opportunité d’explorer ses propres perceptions, ses propres réflexions sur l’idée d’abandon, sur la notion de paradis perdu. Car, le travail du collectif Les Trois-Huit semble davantage envisager la voie, le périple intérieur, que la destination. A travers de multiples formes de résonnances, de paysages sensitifs, à travers divers fragments de textes (d’Anton Tchekhov, mais aussi de Bertolt Brecht, de William Shakespeare, de Paul Claudel…), cette adaptation de La Cerisaie tisse une relation intime, singulière, entre le public et la représentation.
Une rêverie autour des notions de départ et de dépossession
Une représentation animée et composite, d’une certaine manière désacralisée, qui exclut toute idée de quatrième mur pour permettre à chacun de saisir le plus directement possible les enjeux dramaturgiques mis au jour par les onze comédiens. Tantôt monofrontal, tantôt diffus, tantôt éclaté, le rapport scène/salle évolue et se réinvente ainsi tout au long du spectacle. Cette façon de ne jamais s’installer trop longtemps dans une même appréhension de l’espace scénique permet une mise en partage généreuse de l’acte artistique. Car, la proposition théâtrale des Trois-Huit — même lorsque certaines scènes se révèlent fragiles, moins denses, moins convaincantes que les autres — ne se fourvoie jamais dans des postures artificielles ou des partis pris pompeusement volontaristes. L’une des grandes qualités de Notre Cerisaie réside, au contraire, dans une forme de justesse, de sincérité, une forme de proximité qui confère au spectacle un aspect très humain. Or, cette humanité, apparaissant comme au cœur de la mise en scène de Sylvie Mongin-Algan, nous mène elle aussi sur les traces de Tchekhov.
