Théâtre Artistic Athévains / d’après les écrits de Tchekhov / adaptation et jeu Catherine Salviat
Faite d’oxymores entre néant et infini, lyrisme et laconisme, puissance et velléité, exubérante joie de vivre et profondes nostalgies, l’âme russe brille de tous ses feux dans le journal et la correspondance de Tchekhov. Contraint de demeurer au soleil de Yalta, loin de Moscou et du froid qui augmente ses crises d’hémoptysie, il attend Olga et accepte de la laisser aux planches, écrivant de loin les rôles qu’elle joue et les comédies que Stanislavski s’obstine à monter comme des tragédies, au grand dam de l’écrivain… Charmant misanthrope, préférant taquiner le poisson que fréquenter ceux qui se pressent dans son bureau pour lui rendre hommage, amateur contrarié de bon vin, paisible campagnard admirant bouleaux, cerisiers et animaux, Tchekhov traversa la vie avec humour et décence. Catherine Salviat met ses pas dans les siens et le fait nôtre. Elle glisse d’un personnage à l’autre et raconte l’œuvre autant qu’elle rend hommage à son auteur.
