« Ce texte est né d’une rencontre avec une jeune femme d’origine sénégalaise qui m’a fait le cadeau du récit d’une partie de sa vie et de celle de ses parents (…) reniant, pour le bien de l’intégration de leurs enfants : culture, traditions culinaires, religieuses et surtout leur langue. (…) Cette jeune femme me raconte avoir grandi avec la sensation vertigineuse de ne jamais se voir quand elle se regardait dans un miroir. On ne la touchait pas, on ne lui parlait pas, alors elle ignorait sa propre existence. », dit Elise Chatauret, qui, en un théâtre où la poésie transcende le documentaire, invente l’histoire d’un homme noir qui ne parvient pas à parler à l’enfant qui est né de son amour pour une femme blanche. Ce duo intimiste et sensoriel fait entendre la polyphonie du souvenir et du vécu. Les deux acteurs défient la notion de personnage pour interroger « ce qui, en chacun de nous, est exilé et seul, incompréhensible et muet, ce qui, de notre langue intime et personnelle, a peine à se transmettre ».
