OPERA MIS EN SCENE / AVIGNON / BORDEAUX / NICE
Inspiré par des contes tchèques de Erben et Nemcova qui reprennent des éléments de La Petite Sirène d’Andersen, Rusalka décrit le destin tragique d’une créature ondine qui doit sacrifier la parole – et donc le chant – à son amour pour un prince du règne des hommes. Habitué des relectures iconoclastes « pour tester le présent » des œuvres du répertoire, le collectif le lab fondé par Jean-Philippe Clarac et Olivier Deloeuil replace l’opéra de Dvorak dans l’univers de la natation synchronisée. Reprenant le geste scénographique développé dans Butterfly, les vidéos de compétitions et leurs coulisses ainsi que des plans extérieurs de chacune des villes où la production sera donnée jouent de la porosité entre le réel et le drame musical, dans une réinvention de l’onirisme du livret, avec un humour versatile, tendre et cruel. Pour les représentations à Avignon et Bordeaux, le rôle-titre – défendu pendant les dernières décennies entre autres par Renée Fleming – sera tenu par Ani Yorentz, sous la direction de Domingo Hindoyan.
