Les pièces de Philippe Minyana ne cherchent pas à raconter de belles histoires bien construites, bien agencées. Elles ne visent pas à éclairer des sujets qui s’en tiendraient aux limites du sentimental ou du compassionnel. Fruits d’un travail de réflexion et de laboratoire, ces œuvres métissées visent plutôt à s’emparer de façon singulière de thèmes universels, à explorer de manière personnelle des motifs théâtraux puisant dans le familier, dans le quotidien. Elles s’attachent ainsi à faire naître des situations concrètes, souvent cocasses ou inattendues, qui tournent le dos au réalisme pour investir un champ à la croisée du grotesque, du funèbre et du merveilleux. Né à Besançon en 1946, l’auteur se définit comme un artisan en perpétuelle recherche. Il donne corps, à travers ses textes, à l’une des écritures les plus ambitieuses des dramaturgies contemporaines francophones. Parmi ces œuvres, il y a Nuit, que le dramaturge met lui-même en scène avec une belle troupe d’interprètes : Luce Mouchel, Jérôme Billy, Sarah Biasini, Florent Baffi, Emma Santini, Balthazar Gouzou, accompagnés du compositeur Nicolas Ducloux.
Le rire comme antidote au désespoir
On découvre des personnages qui n’en sont pas vraiment, qui penchent vers les accents saillants de figures de théâtre. Ils parlent, chantent, vont et viennent dans une confusion étudiée. Il y a un jeune couple, Edith et Gino. Il y a une femme d’un certain âge, prénommée Laura, et son frère Carlos. Il y a encore des joggeurs, des promeneurs, des grands-parents, une infirmière. Ces personnalités souvent outrancières énoncent un monde par le biais de saynètes ayant pour vocation de créer des paradoxes, des ruptures, et de faire rire. Et puis, il y a la nature, libre et poétique, qui affirme ses droits. La scénographie est ouverte, mouvante, dépouillée. Cabaret de la parole, oratorio de l’existence, Nuit met à nu les failles de l’intime, les tourments liés aux assujettissements de l’humain. Le rire, ici, sert d’antidote au sérieux, au désespoir. C’est ce qui apparaît lorsqu’on se plonge dans le recueil au sein duquel Les Solitaires Intempestifs ont publié, en septembre 2021, cette pièce aux côtés de trois autres (Maisons rouges, Accident, Frères et Sœur). Quant à la mise en scène qu’en propose l’auteur, elle déçoit. Formaliste, voulant aller à toute vitesse, elle colle au texte sans parvenir à lui insuffler la vie que nécessite le théâtre.
