Au moment où l’actualité récente vient de braquer de manière dramatique l’attention de la planète toute entière sur le Japon, cette soirée exceptionnelle vient offrir, en toute sérénité, un contrepoint artistique offrant un tout autre visage de l’archipel nippon. Pays de la modernité par excellence, le Japon reste aussi dans le même temps fondamentalement attaché à ses traditions artistiques. Ce plateau couvrant tout le spectre des arts vivants – danse du théâtre Kabuki, chants, percussions, concerts… – illustre parfaitement cette vitalité préservée des arts traditionnels japonais. Deux artistes dominent la soirée : Nobuko Matsumiya, la grande chanteuse et joueuse de koto (instrument de musique à cordes pincées typiquement japonais) originaire de Kyoto, ville de culture traditionnelle par excellence, qui se produira à la tête de son Ensemble Sakura, et une autre grand dame, Eiko Hayashi, spécialiste du Nihon Buyô, cette discipline alliant mime et danse, issue du théâtre Kabuki. Une plongée dans un monde de l’infiniment raffiné et subtil… Dégustations de plats japonais et initiations à l’art floral Ikebana sont aussi au programme, en marge des spectacles.
