D’un côté, le Boléro de Ravel, de l’autre, des chants populaires d’Houria Aïchi : entre les deux, traçant un trait d’union entre ces musiques emblématiques de la mémoire collective française et algérienne, Abou Lagraa et le Ballet Contemporain d’Alger. Porté par le « Pont Culturel Méditerranéen », programme triennal lancé en 2010 en faveur de l’art chorégraphique, le projet associe en une pièce la transmission et la création : Nya (c’est-à-dire « faire confiance à la vie », en arabe) est le fruit d’une intense formation (en technique classique, contemporaine et yoga) de neuf jeunes danseurs issus de la rue. Mariant fulgurances hip-hop à l’écriture toute en volutes, ondulations et fluides combinaisons du chorégraphe, le diptyque se déploie d’abord en une partition rythmique et visuelle pleine d’éclats et de contrepoints, de parallèles et de diagonales, qui tranche avec la calligraphie acrobatique du mouvement dans le second volet. Soit une façon de mettre en résonnance par la danse les cultures et les langages…
