Louis a toujours rêvé de devenir chanteur d’opéra. Déjà enfant, il s’entraînait aux arias et aux vocalises en imaginant évoluer devant la fosse d’orchestre, sous les lumières des projecteurs, parmi les ors et les pourpres d’un de ces prestigieux théâtres lyriques. Puis un jour, suite à une audition, son rêve se réalise. On lui propose d’interpréter le rôle de Don José, dans Carmen — enfin, de devenir sa doublure… Transporté au cœur de ce milieu tant fantasmé, Louis découvre l’envers et les boursouflures du décor… Mêlant humour, chant, pantomime, poésie…, Olivier Martin-Salvan incarne à lui seul tous les personnages de Ô Carmen. Dirigé par le metteur en scène Nicolas Vial, le comédien compose un « parcours poétique et burlesque » à travers lequel il vise à esquisser « toute la folie, la beauté, la violence et l’exigence que l’on trouve dans le monde de l’opéra ».
