Un gosse de 10 ans, immigré à Marseille, tout heureux d’admirer un camelot, qui, soudain, l’apostrophe. Ramassis de clichés antisémites, l’insulte le meurtrit profondément. « Je suis parti sous les rires de la majorité satisfaite, braves gens qui s’aimaient de détester ensemble. » Ce gosse, c’est Albert Cohen, et à l’approche de la fin de sa vie, c’est ce souvenir douloureux que l’immense écrivain raconte à la page blanche et aux hommes. Sa parole lucide et splendide nous convoque et alerte sur l’absurdité et la férocité de la haine. Alain Timar fait résonner la valeur d’exemple et la dimension universelle de cette sale histoire en confiant l’interprétation à un trio « facétieux et cosmopolite » : Paul Camus, Gilbert Laumord et Issam Rachyq-Ahrad. Trois « hurluberlus grandioses », aspirant éperdument au bonheur dans ce pays aimé, dévoilant « l’humour, l’ironie, le rire et la satire féroce d’un monde englué dans l’illusoire amour du prochain ». « « Laissez-nous être heureux » semblent-ils nous confier ! « Alors qu’en ce début de XXIème siècle, le rejet de l’étranger se répand et que certains crient impunément “Mort aux juifs !“ dans les manifs, saluons l’excellente idée de faire ainsi entendre ce superbe texte, adresse directe à nous tous, frères humains…
