On s’y glisse comme en terres d’enfance, quand les rires excités chahutaient la pénombre apeurée des soirs d’exception. On passe les rideaux rouges au vent, on grimpe les escaliers puis on chemine dans la ronde coursive pour arriver jusqu’au ventre du petit chapiteau de bois et se blottir sur un banc, serrés les uns contre les autres. Bienvenue dans le cabinet de curiosités des frères Forman… Et voilà qu’aussitôt la pensée s’envole dans un étrange voyage au cœur de l’imaginaire forain. On y croise une foule bigarrée de curieuses créatures : l’homme le plus fort du monde, une femme à barbe sexy, une sirène désabusée, un cheval de bois grandeur nature… trois poupées de tissu qui fixent le public de leurs grosses têtes impavides, inquiétantes et naïves. Les deux marionnettistes tchèques, compagnons d’aventure de la Volière Dromesko et de la Baraque d’Igor et Lili, ont cousu main un drôle de cabaret aux charmes d’antan. « Aujourd’hui, la tradition se perd peu à peu… Nous ne voulons pas de marionnettes pour touristes ou pour enfants, nous voulons autre chose, un spectacle pour tous. C’est une idée qui nous occupait depuis plusieurs années, retrouver l’esprit du théâtre ambulant des années 30, où l’on montrait notamment des êtres étranges, des monstres. Nous aimons jouer avec les lieux, les ambiances, mélanger le théâtre, le cabaret, le cirque… » explique Petr Forman, l’un des deux jumeaux.
Un théâtre populaire et nomade
« Fascinés par les destins souvent émouvants de ces personnes, nous composons avec engouement et passion la mosaïque de notre spectacle. Et comme eux jadis, nous partons avec Obludarium en voyage à travers les villes, les bourgs et les villages. » ajoute-t-il. En piste, il fait un Monsieur Loyal aux airs de magicien échevelé. Crânement drapé dans une longue pèlerine cramoisie, il mène la parade au rythme des accents tziganes de l’orchestre de six musiciens, tandis que les bras s’actionnent en cadence alentour pour faire briller les lanternes à dynamos. Les numéros se succèdent comme autant de saynètes fantastiques : une timide femme-panthère, une mariée-amazone chevauchant des ombres chinoises, quatre Frères Jacques pour une partie de fausses claquettes, un molosse énamouré chantant ses amours ou encore une sirène noyée parmi des poissons volants défilent sur la tournette centrale qui fait valser les clichés sépias du théâtre de foire. Poésie pure, bricolage merveilleux, tendre dérision… Les frères Forman, fils du réalisateur Milos Forman, ravivent une tradition qui convoque à la fois le monstre, le bizarre, l’exploit, le rêve et l’illusion. Comme une parenthèse chimérique pour lutter contre la monstruosité de la vie…
