Dissection au scalpel des rapports d’un couple (interprété par Stéphanie Marc et Philippe Hottier), mais également des rapports qu’entretient ce couple avec le monde, Occident place face à face un homme et une femme qui ne tiennent plus que « par un jeu de mots, une danse de mort, un rituel intime ». Créé en 2008, le spectacle que signe Dag Jeanneret à partir de la pièce de Rémi De Vos est repris, en ce festival 2012, au Théâtre des Halles. Voyant dans ce texte « une bataille à la vie à la mort entre deux êtres perdus », « un échange âpre et trivial », « la descente aux enfers d’un homme qui peu à peu glisse vers l’extrémisme », le metteur en scène a cherché à élaborer une « comédie terriblement grinçante ». Une comédie qui rejoint un vertige de la parole, une « obsession de la parole comme refuge ultime, comme dernier recours au vide ».
