Unique dans le paysage théâtral français, cette biennale de création tout public, destinée aux enfants, mais aussi aux adolescents, constitue désormais une véritable marque de fabrique du Théâtre de Sartrouville et des Yvelines. D’une grande exigence artistique et d’une créativité à la fois expérimentale et populaire, le festival met en oeuvre une vaste décentralisation. La manifestation essaime dans tout le département et orchestre la rencontre entre un théâtre d’art innovant et les publics, en impliquant de multiples acteurs culturels. Cette année, trois grandes formes côtoient quatre formes itinérantes prévues pour être jouées dans les collèges, lycées, et autres petits lieux. La Biennale 2011 se caractérise par une dimension internationale, une programmation de haute volée où résonnent les voix de divers continents comme autant d’échos du monde appelés à ouvrir l’imaginaire et la réflexion.
Pouvoir consolateur de l’imaginaire
Le chilien Jaime Lorca adapte librement Benito Cereno (dès 6 ans) d’Herman Melville, qui raconte la mutinerie d’esclaves sénégalais à bord d’un navire espagnol. Célie Pauthe met en scène Train de nuit pour Bolina (dès 9 ans) de Nilo Cruz, une œuvre exaltant le pouvoir consolateur de l’imaginaire. Oriza Hirata crée un conte philosophique célèbre, La Nuit du train de la Voie lactée (dès 6 ans) d’après Kenji Miyazawa (1896-1933), écrivain et poète majeur au Japon. Ecrit par le jeune auteur togolais Rodrigue Norma, VENAVI ou Pourquoi ma sœur ne va pas bien (dès 6 ans), mis en scène par Olivier Letellier, s’articule autour du thème de la perte d’un être chéri. Je suis une bulle (dès 6 ans) de l’auteur et metteur en scène suédoise Malin Axelsson, mis en scène par Pauline Bureau, interroge ce que grandir veut dire. Comme Zoom de Gilles Granouillet lors de l’édition précédente, De la Salive comme oxygène (dès 13 ans) de Pauline Sales, mis en scène par l’artiste algérien Kheireddine Lardjam, a été finalisé au fil d’une résidence de création en collège. La pièce fait vivre un garçon qui se raconte des histoires pour se sentir vivant. A portée de crachat (dès 14 ans) de l’auteur, metteur en scène et acteur Taher Najib, né en Galilée, dévoile ironiquement les tribulations d’un acteur palestinien confronté à des images de lui-même – guerrier arabe ou terroriste – qui lui sont étrangères. Laurent Fréchuret, directeur du théâtre du théâtre de Sartrouville, signe la mise en scène.
