Il est des œuvres théâtrales dont l’interprétation et la mise en scène relèvent de la gageure. Oh les beaux jours est de celles-là : d’abord parce que le mamelon qui emprisonne Winnie impose une scénographie qui rappelle forcément les précédentes, ensuite parce que la comédienne qui se voit confier le rôle doit affronter le risque de la comparaison avec les monstres sacrés qui ont marqué Winnie de leur empreinte, au premier rang desquels l’inoubliable Madeleine Renaud… « La cinquantaine, de beaux restes, blonde de préférence, grassouillette, bras et épaules nus, corsage décolleté, poitrine plantureuse, collier de perles » : telles sont les indications de Beckett, que Laëtitia Pitz revisitent avec élégance et raffinement, dans un bustier de pierreries chatoyantes, avec la beauté mutine d’une femme-enfant sur le corps de laquelle le temps aurait rechigné à faire son œuvre. Cette Winnie-là yoyotte un peu, certes, cherche ses mots et ses lunettes, fouille dans son sac avec une méticuleuse obsession, mais elle n’a rien d’une tragédienne inquiète, et semble se moquer de la mort. Résistante et drôle : telle l’a voulue Daniel Proia, qui a choisi de placer cette angoissante lutte contre le temps sous l’auspice de « l’intempestif ».
Musiques et mots
Laëtitia Pitz parle du sommet d’un monticule fait de morceaux de tissus, qui figurent des sortes de pétales morts et composent une corolle presque fanée en forme d’immense jupe blanche et grise. Autour du môle, rampe et vagit Willie, interprété par Camille Perrin. Le comédien, également contrebassiste, joue une introduction musicale à la pièce, en compagnie du clarinettiste Xavier Charles. Le but de cette entrée en musique est, selon les mots de Laëtitia Pitz, d’« apporter un contrepoint à la violence des sentiments, à la cruauté, à l’angoisse qui va venir ». Le dialogue initial entre la contrebasse et la clarinette semble repris par les corps et les voix des comédiens : le massif Camille Perrin répondant en ours débonnaire au vent mozartien de la Winnie de Laëtitia Pitz, aérienne et enjouée comme la Comtesse chantant sous les pins…
