Théâtre-Studio d’Alfortville / d’après Nikolaï Gogol / mes Oskaras Korsunovas
Parmi la soixantaine de pièces qu’a montées Oksaras Korsunovas, le théâtre et la littérature russes tiennent une place centrale. Il a notamment mis en scène Le Maître et Marguerite de Boulgakov ainsi que des textes de Daniil Harms. C’est aujourd’hui à Journal d’un fou de Nikolaï Gogol qu’il s’intéresse. Une nouvelle parue en 1843, en même temps que plusieurs autres textes célèbres comme Le Manteau, Le Nez et Le Portrait. Pour l’artiste lituanien, l’histoire du fonctionnaire Poprichtchine qui tombe amoureux de la fille de son patron, et sombre dans la démence au point de s’autoproclamer roi d’Espagne, est une « histoire prophétique sur la genèse du fascisme, qui prend source dans l’ordre et la justice, sur leur perversité qui mène à la mégalomanie, au désir de changer le monde et finalement, à la folie absolue ». Dans le rôle du anti-héros, Eimantas Pakalka incarne toute cette démesure. Cette folie des grandeurs dont les ressemblances avec certains faits actuels ne sont pas fortuites.
