Le batteur breton à la sensibilité chambriste avait marqué les esprits il y a quelques années en provoquant une rencontre féconde avec le guitariste John Abercrombie. Il a récemment réitéré l’expérience en s’associant pour une aventure musicale approfondie avec un autre grand musicien américain invité en la personne de Kenny Wheeler. Une association qui réunit deux coloristes hors pair. Le magnifique album « Sur les Corps des Klaxons » (chez Rewind Records Distribution Anti-Craft) sorti il y a un an a marqué le premier volet du projet, révélant une musique ondoyante (signée par le leader et son invité mais aussi par le guitariste David Chevallier) aux fondements mélodiques forts, portée par un jeu d’échanges intenses entre les protagonistes. Le deuxième volet arrive aujourd’hui avec les retrouvailles sur scène de ce groupe d’exception. « Kenny Wheeler est un musicien « énorme » que j’écoute depuis mon adolescence. Nous nous sommes rencontrés en 1995 et nous nous sommes revus de façon informelle ces dernières années, et c’est à ce moment que l’idée d’enregistrer ensemble a germé. Tout en étant quelqu’un d’introverti, il peut être en même temps un musicien très malicieux. Ce concert sera l’occasion de donner vie à un répertoire original, dans lequel chacun apporte sa signature » confie Olivier Le Goas. Avec aussi David Chevallier à la guitare et Marc Buronfosse à la contrebasse.
