Des créateurs multiples et transversaux ont œuvré à la belle et presque trop savante mise en scène de Julie Bérès, qu’ils soient vidéastes, plasticiens, circassiens, marionnettistes, chorégraphes. De jeunes interprètes, Nadine Berland, Clémence Coconnier, Lucas Manganelli, Delphine Simon et Nicolas Sotnikoff engagent sur le plateau l’écriture scénique d’un puzzle éparpillé dont les morceaux donnent leur cohérence au fil du temps et des reprises de situations. Une maison à deux étages, ou bien deux pièces superposées d’un appartement où l’on découvre le quotidien des habitants. En haut, le logement central où vit une femme sans âge, sirène à longue chevelure, maugréant contre la sécu et le monde, une bouteille de plastique à la main, obsédée par la nécessité de tout « hydrater », plantes, robe et poisson d’aquarium. En bas, des scènes initiatiques, relevant peut-être de l’enfance, un fils seul avec sa mère en perdition. S’agit-il de la femme de l’étage plus jeune ? En bas encore, deux petites filles heureuses rient non loin du couple parental pris dans ses difficultés. L’une des fillettes sur sa balançoire est-elle la femme vieillie d’aujourd’hui ? En vrac, des scènes et des images qui raconteraient l’histoire d’une seule, mais qui pourraient tout autant évoquer une démultiplication du sentiment de l’échec et du malheur, à toute époque.
Des militants de la beauté de l’existence, robes fourreau et strass
Une scénographie sophistiquée, coupée imaginairement en éclats et scintillements, avec sonorités douloureuses, cris et chuchotements, aboiements et miroir lumineux qui ne réfléchit plus le mensonge ou le souhait de la Méchante Reine de Blanche-Neige mais la trivialité d’un corps que l’esprit ne contrôle plus. Les interprètes, contorsionnistes, acrobates, danseurs, sont comparables à des militants de la beauté de l’existence – robes fourreau et strass façon films américains – contre le sentiment d’abandon et l’approche de la mort, les moins pourvus étant les plus frappés. Hélas oui, « on est bien seul dans sa peau », voilà le résultat de rencontres chez des personnes âgées résidant en maison de retraite. Nulle complaisance quant au regard porté sur cette population délaissée et sa question « Comment devient-on vieux ? ». Un film vidéo au-dessus du soupçon d’inauthenticité clôt la représentation. Esseulement moral loin de toute sphère familiale, dégradation du corps et de l’apparence, misère sexuelle, faux compagnonnages avec d’autres que l’on rejette car trop semblables à soi. Un regard esthétisant sur la laideur de l’inassouvissement et des ratés de la vie.
