Depuis la nomination de Nicolas Joël, l’Opéra de Paris devient peu à peu un théâtre de répertoire alignant, mois après mois, les reprises. L’avantage de cette production d’Ariane à Naxos, c’est que son metteur en scène est encore vivant (contrairement aux Noces de Figaro de Strehler ou aux mises en scènes annoncées de Jean-Pierre Ponnelle…). Réputé pour sa direction d’acteur rythmée et non dénuée d’humour, Laurent Pelly et son équipe habituelle (Agathe Melinand à la dramaturgie, Chantal Thomas aux décors…) vont retrouver la délicieuse mezzo-soprano Sophie Koch, déjà présente à la création de cette production en 2003. Dans le rôle de Zerbinette, la star Natalie Dessay est, pour sa part, remplacée par Jane Archibald. Côté masculin, Detlef Roth et Xavier Mas promettent de beaux moments. Mais surtout, le bonheur risque de venir de la fosse, où officie Philippe Jordan, straussien de prédilection comme nous l’a rappelé son récent enregistrement de la Symphonie alpestre (Naïve). Et que les fans de Laurent Pelly se rassurent : ils découvriront en janvier sa nouvelle production de Giulio Cesare de Haendel (avec cette fois-ci Natalie Dessay).
