Après avoir accueilli, au début du mois de septembre à Gaveau, les “Talents chefs d’orchestre” de l’Adami, l’Orchestre Colonne fait aujourd’hui à Pleyel sa « deuxième » rentrée sous la baguette de son directeur musical. Laurent Petitgirard, fidèle à sa politique de défense de la musique de notre temps, ouvre son programme avec les Noces de Lumière du compositeur français Vincent Paulet (né en 1962) avant d’enchaîner deux “tubes” du grand répertoire romantique : le Premier Concerto pour piano de Tchaïkovski et la Deuxième Symphonie de Brahms. Au piano : Dominique Merlet, grand « Monsieur » du piano français, pédagogue mondialement respecté, et dans sa jeunesse Premier Prix au Concours de Genève en 1957, préféré alors par le jury à Martha Argerich et Maurizio Pollini également en compétition cette même année… A noter enfin : la formule d’abonnement sans équivalent proposée par Colonne au tarif record de 10 € par place en 1ère catégorie (dès 5 concerts). Un effort exemplaire de démocratisation de la musique symphonique…
