C’est la concurrence entre les trois orchestres de concerts associatifs parisiens : Lamoureux, en légère perte de vitesse depuis le départ de Yutaka Sado, Pasdeloup, à l’honneur dans les comédies musicales du Châtelet, et Colonne. Pour se différencier, ce dernier a choisi de miser notamment sur la musique contemporaine (avec, à chaque concert, une pièce de musique d’aujourd’hui, création ou reprise). Un pari risqué, porté par le chef de l’orchestre, Laurent Petitgirard, qui est également compositeur (le générique de la série Maigret, c’est lui !). Le 16 mai, les auditeurs de la Salle Pleyel pourront ainsi découvrir en création Melancolia d’Alain Kremski. Un compositeur peu connu, dont l’œuvre est en partie inspirée par les musiques traditionnelles tibétaines. Le reste du programme est entièrement consacré à Richard Wagner, dont on entendra des ouvertures et préludes mais aussi des pages vocales, interprétées par la soprano Cécile Perrin et l’excellent baryton Jean-Philippe Lafont.
