Depuis la saison 2005-2006, l’orchestre parisien est placé sous la direction du chef d’orchestre et compositeur Laurent Petitgirard. « Colonne a une place très spéciale parmi les associations parisiennes : il y a une dimension de passion, de fidélité et d’engagement dans cet orchestre. Je souhaite mettre en place une programmation beaucoup plus pointue et reprendre une place qui manque à Paris, celle d’un orchestre capable de prendre des risques. Lors de chaque concert, nous programmerons la reprise d’une oeuvre contemporaine… » déclarait Petitgirard à son arrivée. Les mêmes objectifs semblent aujourd’hui d’actualité et cette nouvelle saison s’ouvre avec deux belles soirées à la Salle Gaveau. Le 12 octobre, trois jeunes chefs se partagent le podium dans le cadre de l’opération « Talents Chefs d’Orchestre Adami » dont la précédente édition a été remportée par Benjamin Lévy. Les trois jeunes chefs Gwennolé Rufet, Stilian Kirov et Elizabeth Askren se succéderont dans les Symphonie n°40 de Mozart, Symphonie n°2 de Beethoven et (beaucoup plus périlleuse pour l’orchestre) Symphonie Classique de Prokofiev. Une semaine plus tard, Laurent Petitgirard sera seul aux commandes et lancera au grand bandonéoniste argentin Juan José Mosalini, français d’adoption de longue date, une invitation à partager la scène dans le Concerto de Patrice Mestral (né en 1945) avant d’accompagner Elisso Bolkvadze dans le Concerto pour piano n°2 de Saint-Saëns puis de conclure seul avec ses musiciens dans la Symphonie n°4 de Schumann.
