HOMMAGE A JANIS JOPLIN / BAISER SALé
La musique pop-rock des années 60-70 affole décidément l’imagination des plus aventureux de nos musiciens de jazz français. A l’heure où Médéric Collignon vient de signer une relecture de la musique de King Crimson, c’est au tour de Franck Tortiller de rendre hommage à Janis Joplin. Il convoque pour cela toute la palette sonore du grand orchestre qui porte son nom, tous cuivres dehors, et propulse sur le devant de la scène dans le rôle du chanteur, le batteur Jacques Mahieux et sa belle voix éraillée, magnifique vocaliste musicien. « Comme Arthur Rimbaud, Janis Joplin a été une sorte de funambule, s’élevant au-dessus de tout ce qui pouvait corrompre sa liberté. Tout y est rêverie, amusement, audace, insouciance, illusion, mais surtout de la musique, beaucoup de musique. Les chansons de Janis Joplin ne sont pas le simple reflet d’une époque mais une manifestation à part entière de la révolution culturelle des années soixante, avec cette dimension intuitive, artistique, musicale, qui fut déterminante » confie Franck Tortiller qui avait déjà revisité le répertoire de Led Zeppelin à la tête de l’ONJ… Une réussite !
