ORCHESTRE SYMPHONIQUE / THEATRE DES CHAMPS-ELYSEES
La rentrée pied au plancher de Daniele Gatti, patron de l’Orchestre National de France, se confirme. Après avoir dirigé les deux premiers programmes de son orchestre en septembre au TCE, il ne quitte pas non plus le podium en octobre. Son inspiration le mène aujourd’hui pour la première fois avec ses musiciens parisiens vers l’univers orchestral de Tchaikovski, dont le chef italien dirigera les six symphonies en 5 concerts au cours de cette saison (suite et fin de l’intégrale en avril et mai 2014). Les trois premières symphonies sont au programme : la « Première » le 17 octobre associée à Haydn (Symphonie n°96) et Ravel (Concerto en sol, avec Jean-Yves Thibaudet au piano), et une semaine plus tard le 24 octobre, les n°2 et n°3. « Tchaikovski est un héritier des classiques, de Mozart, de Mendelssohn, explique Gatti à Christian Wasselin dans un entretien publié sur le site de Radio-France. Ses trois premières symphonies sont moins chargées en sucre, ce qui ne veut pas dire qu’il n’a pas mis de sucre là où il faut et dans la quantité qu’il faut. En respectant ses indications, on peut avoir de la puissance et non pas seulement du pathos. Il s’agit aussi d’une musique naturellement cantabile. Mais il faut que les interprètes gardent de la dignité, que le chant ne soit pas déboutonné ! ».
