En attendant la sortie très attendue du nouvel album de l’Orchestre National
de Jazz, prévue le 10 mai chez Chant du Monde/Harmonia Mundi, Franck Tortiller
et ses troupes s’installent au Cabaret Sauvage pour un pré-concert de sortie
exceptionnel. La nouvelle mouture de l’ONJ sera? électrique, s’appuyant
sur un nouveau répertoire de créations qui prend sa source dans la révolution
sonore des années 70 initiée par Miles Davis et les siens (Herbie Hancock, Joe
Zawinul, etc’), qui a provoqué les premières relations (dangereuses) du jazz et
de l’électricité. Comment relire, plus de trois décennies plus tard, les
trouvailles du jazz-rock ? En les dépassant, semble répondre le vibraphoniste et
compositeur. Tortiller imagine son orchestre dans ce projet comme « une
sorte de « cirque électrique » où exploration, mélange des sons et
positionnement rythmique seront les moteurs de la création ». En première
ligne : Vincent Limouzin et son vibraphone midi, Patrice Héral, génial sorcier
du traitement « live » des boucles et des samples, et enfin Claude Gomez pour la
conception d’échantillons sonores et d’univers électroniques. Ce nouveau
programme « Electrique » sera repris le 16 mai lors du festival « Jazz sous les
pommiers » à Coutances.
