A l’instar de l’Orchestre Lamoureux au milieu des années 90 avec l’arrivée de Yutaka Sado (parti depuis pour de nouvelles aventures) ou plus récemment de l’Orchestre Colonne sous l’impulsion de Laurent Petigirard, l’aînée des associations symphoniques parisiennes nées au XIXè siècle se cherche un second souffle. Un pari pour le moins difficile quand on considère, sur le même terrain de jeu des salles parisiennes, la double concurrence des grands orchestres permanents et de jeunes formations survoltées (Orchestre Pelléas, Les Siècles, Les Dissonances, etc…). Dans un tel contexte, compliqué encore par des niveaux de subventions à la limite du ridicule et l’absence d’un chef d’envergure, seuls l’invention de la programmation et le soutien massif d’un public fidèle sont de nature à laisser à une formation comme Pasdeloup une chance de continuer à exister artistiquement. Cette saison des « 150 ans » s’ouvre, le 23 octobre à Gaveau, avec un banal programme Offenbach (direction Jean-Christophe Keck) mais la programmation prendra une autre tournure, dès le 13 novembre à Pleyel avec une création mondiale du compositeur japonais Noriko Baba (Klartraum) présentée dans le cadre du festival des Paris de la Musique et de l’invitation lancée à Paul Badura-Skoda, soliste du Quatrième Concerto pour piano de Beethoven (dir. Wolfgang Doerner).
