C’est le plus excitant concert de Noël. Pas de chants traditionnels, ni de ballets poussiéreux, mais un programme entièrement dédié à Emmanuel Chabrier. En contrepoint à la production-phare de L’Etoile dirigée par John Eliot Gardiner, l’Opéra Comique a invité l’Orchestre Pelléas à interpréter deux opérettes du compositeur français : Fisch-Ton-Kan (sur des paroles de Paul Verlaine), présenté pour la première fois avec une partie d’orchestre « à la Chabrier », puis Une éducation manquée (sur un livret d’Eugène Leterrier et Albert Vanloo). Au même programme, toujours de Chabrier, une approche nouvelle de La Bourrée Fantasque – page d’orchestre connue jusqu’à présent dans une orchestration assez lourde due à Felix Mottl -, interprétée dans une nouvelle version « light » de Thibault Perrine : "Nous avons retrouvé les esquisses d’orchestration d’Emmanuel Chabrier et nous avons constaté qu’il avait envisagé un orchestre plus restreint, du type de ceux utilisés par Offenbach par exemple. On pourra donc entendre pour la première fois cette oeuvre dans une orchestration fidèle aux esquisses inachevées du compositeur » souligne Benjamin Lévy, directeur musical de l’Orchestre. Avec leur fraîcheur insolente et leur dynamisme irradiant, le jeune chef et ses musiciens trouveront assurément le ton juste pour interpréter ces vraies et belles raretés. Cerise sur le gâteau : Jérôme Deschamps signe la mise en espace.
