Si le Gallois Grant Llewellyn, nouveau directeur musical (à la suite de Darrell Ang) de l’Orchestre symphonique de Bretagne, a choisi le mois dernier pour son concert inaugural un très classique et germanique programme 100% Beethoven, la phalange bretonne semble s’être donnée comme axe majeur de sa saison 2015-2016 le projet « Taliesin ». Ce cycle de concerts qui doit son nom à un mythique barde révèle « la volonté de l’OSB de s’inscrire sur le territoire régional, en revisitant, à travers le prisme de la musique classique, les traditions musicales bretonnes et celtes ». Après avoir invité deux bretons, le pianiste Didier Squiban et la chanteuse traditionnelle Marthe Vassallo, ou encore le sonneur de gaïta galicien Carlos Nuñez, le Projet Taliesin invite aujourd’hui pour deux concerts exceptionnels le guitariste et compositeur Dan Ar Braz. Peu connu des mélomanes classiques, ce guitariste électrique de 66 ans, qui a fait ses débuts dans le groupe d’Alan Stivell au début des années 70, est un héros en terres bretonnes où il a vendu plus de deux millions d’albums. Entouré de son groupe régulier (où l’on distingue un autre guitariste majeur : Jacques Pellen), il revisite quelques-unes de ses compositions dans des arrangements symphoniques inédits réalisés et dirigés par l’irlandais Derek Gleeson.
