Fils du célèbre violoniste Isaac Stern, le chef David Stern poursuit un beau travail avec son ensemble sur instruments anciens, « Opera Fuoco ». Spécialisée dans le répertoire lyrique du XVIIIème siècle, cette formation remet ce mois-ci à l’honneur un opéra de Telemann tombé dans l’oubli : Orpheus. Inspirée du célèbre mythe, cette partition n’a pas connu la célébrité de l’œuvre de Monteverdi. Et pourtant, il y a fort à parier que la musique, comme toujours chez Telemann, se distingue par son invention instrumentale et son remarquable sens mélodique. Présenté au Théâtre de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Orpheus est mis en scène par Jakob Peters-Messer, qui l’a déjà monté à l’Opéra de Berlin. L’équipe de chanteurs réunit de jeunes voix sensibles à l’esthétique baroque.
