Attention « coup de foudre » assuré. Ce jeune chanteur de Sierra Leone, après un début de parcours professionnel un peu chaotique (un album mort-né dans une major…), repart sur de nouvelles bases à l’initiative d’un « petit » producteur français (Thierry Lascaut pour Seven Productions), tombé amoureux de sa découverte. Et on le comprend ! Seul à la guitare ou porté par un quartet 100 % féminin piloté par Carine Bonnefoy aux claviers (arrangeuse hors-pair), Oumar Thiam et sa sublime voix ambrée et sensuellement rocailleuse sonne comme un mix de Tracy Chapman, Otis Redding et Keziah Jones. Avec sur scène, dans la vérité du face à face avec le public, l’émotion, la simplicité et le charisme en bonus. Son premier album en cours d’enregistrement est annoncé pour le printemps 2009. En attendant, une série de rendez-vous en concert vous invite à la découverte d’un artiste d’exception. A star is born…
