Pour Alain Platel la découverte de Pina Bausch, qui fut l’une des premières à donner une identité à ses danseurs, dévoilant leur personnalité et leur fragilité sur scène, fut fondamentale. S’inscrivant dans sa lignée, il décide au moment de son décès d’ajouter au titre de la pièce Out of context, alors en cours de création, la dédicace For Pina. Fasciné depuis son expérience de psychopédagogue auprès d’enfants handicapés physiques et mentaux par les gestes incontrôlés, les spasmes, les convulsions, les tics, qui donnent une voie aux émotions enfouies et sont le signe d’un rapport hypersensible au monde, le chorégraphe flamand en fait la matière de ce spectacle, les confrontant à l’hyperconscience et à la virtuosité des danseurs. Sur un plateau nu, les corps enfouis sous des couvertures se dévoilent et disent toute la violence et la beauté de la vie. Créée en 2009 et dansée par ses neuf interprètes originels, Out of context – For Pina est la seule pièce que les Ballets C de la B reprennent.
